2018 QBR|HARLEM BOOK FAIR

Dear Authors, Panelists, and Presenters:

We are very much looking forward to the 20th Anniversary Celebration of the Harlem Book Fair

and would like to thank you, again, for agreeing to participate in what promises

to be a lively celebration of African American and African diasporic literature.

With support from our long-time presenting partner,  C-SPAN BookTV, I believe we have created

a strong platform for the ongoing examination and engagement of African American books,

readers, and authors.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTING AS A PANELIST, MAINSTAGE READER

OR WORKSHOP LEADER:

Please forward a brief description of the area of interest, genre of book, or workshop subject matter. Please include your bio, email, telephone number, photo and book jacket. Please include the title of your book, a short synopsis, and what an audience will take away from having attended your reading, panel discussion or workshop. These are promotional opportunities. There is no compensation available, however, selected participants will receive a basic space (one table and two chairs) at no charge at the Harlem Book Fair. Presentation opportunities are limited and highly sought. Please apply as quickly as possible. You will be notified via email regarding the status of your request. Please forward all presentation requests to Reeshemah Brightley at hbfauthor@qbr.com.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PRESENTING AUTHORS:

For comfort and ease of transition, please report to the AUTHOR TABLE at your respective venue no later than ½ hour (30 minutes) prior to the start of your discussion or presentation. You will be escorted to the Green Room or, if the Outdoor MainStage, where you may relax with your fellow panelists or presenters prior to the event.

PLEASE NOTE: No labeled bottled water will be allowed. Water will be available onstage.

It is the policy of the Harlem Book Fair to have, whenever possible, your current book available for purchase at the conclusion of your discussion. You will be escorted to the Author Signing Area to autograph purchased books at the conclusion of your panel or presentation. Our panels and presentations run in consecutive order. Please support us in clearing the stage area with graceful velocity.

Please address any day-of-event concerns to staff and volunteers found at the HBF Author Table.

We look forward to another wonderful celebration of books and community.

Enthusiastically,

Max Rodriguez, Reeshemah Brightley, and Marty Berg
